hawaiian culture school

Hawaiian culture school was really interesting. Cannon got to help clean out the pond from debris to help save the new hatchlings.
This tree with huge fruits on it is very unique.
The fruit was too heavy for the branches so it eventually adapted and the fruit grows on the main part of the tree now. It is the only tree to flower and have fruit at the same time.

Horses and zoo adventures

Cannon's 1st and 2nd 5K races!!!

Miss Cannon amazed participants and spectators racing in 5K races this summer. She is a very strong little girl.
Her sisters have better their times this summer as well. Looking forward to cross country team soon.

School finale'

This was a very exciting school year (2009-2010). The girls had GREAT teachers (and not just for Hawaii....for anywhere!) Our kindergarten teacher had a masters and taught for the DOD system. Every kid in her class was above the national standard and CANNON was doing 2nd grade level work....so she was amazing.
Sorenna had a newer teacher with a lot heart. Sorenna had exactly what she needed to push herself to do harder work. She is doing 6th grade work, but I still KNOW she is capable of so much more...she is just very creative and kind-hearted .....she will find her motivation and hit the stars very soon. THORIN had the best teacher ever. She knew Thorin could coast through the harder work and really pushed her to her own limits!
Thorin WON a statewide contest for the University of Hawaii's science dept.
She got a backpack full of goodies and presented an award at the university to congratulate her! I was so excited for her.
CANNON graduated in the top of her Kindergarten class even though in most states she would have still been in PRESCHOOL! No holding back the girls.
I am going to miss the teachers who moved. Good thing FACEBOOK lets me talk to them while they move around. Maybe we will see them again some day soon!

Birthday

Sorenna FINALLY turned 8 years old! I say that only because she marked the calendar and counted down for MONTHS until it happened. That week was also her first communion so it was an all week Sorenna event. She is such a cooky kid and I love her spirit...most of the time! She is much like her aunt Cat from what I have heard. She is the true MIDDLE child. Life would be boring without her.

Dance Show

This was probably my most favorite dance show ever. The girls each had different costumes and parts so they had to focus on learning it themselves. They all looked wonderfully cute and did great performances! I Loved Cannon as a french poodle, Sorenna as a CAN-CAN girl (very fitting) and Thorin was the customer in the doll shop. She was so graceful.
